CONTINUOUS ZIPPERS

Hints & Tips

Continuous zippers are the first choice for upholstery and home furnishing projects. They are sold by the meter, so can be cut down to size as required.

There are several sizes of zipper available -- here are some tips to help you pick the right zipper for your next project. 

  • Zippers are sold with a number descriptor. The number is the approximate width of the zipper teeth, in millimeters,  when the zipper is closed.
  • #3 zipper has a zipper teeth width of approx 3mm. It is used for scatter cushions and slip covers made from light weight soft furnishing fabrics. 
  • #4, #4.5 and #5 zipper has a zipper teeth width of approx 4 - 5mm. It is used for projects made from medium weight soft furnishing fabrics, light to medium weight upholstery fabrics, or light to medium weight vinyl, canvas and leather, such as scatter cushions, seat cushions, window seat squabs, beach seat covers, bags and slip covers. 
  • #10 zipper has a zipper teeth width of approx 10mm. It is used for projects made from heavy weight upholstery fabrics, vinyl, canvas and leather, such as leather or vinyl cushions and squabs and marine projects.

ON LINE ONLY: Product is sold on-line only and not stocked in-store.

SALE ITEMS: May be discontinued without notice, even after purchase, as accurate stock counts might not apply. First in first served. Rain-checks do not apply. Sale items may include discontinued products, shop display items, cosmetic damage, shop soilied, temporary supplier price decrease or special promotion etc.
